Marshall Advertising is located at 341 South Plant Avenue in historic Old Hyde Park. Our office is headquartered in a beautiful 8,000 square foot red-brick historic mansion built in 1898. It is historic in both its structure and the person that first owned it. The three-story home, just to the left as you take the ramp off the Davis Island Bridge, is known as the Anderson House. It was built for Colonel James Buchanan
Andersen. It is recognized on both the national and local historic registries.
The home, designed by architect Francis J. Kennard, is constructed of brick and Stone Mountain granite. It is veranda wrapped with iconic columns and a turned balustrade. It has six fireplaces and a ballroom on the third floor where it is said that Mr. Anderson’s daughter gave dancing lessons. The third floor still stands as a ballroom with a large chandelier lighting the room.
